Edward Hagerup b.1871
Edvard Hagerup was born in 1781 and he was also my great great great grandfather.
When the delegates for the congregation that wrote the National Constitution of
Norway were to be shipped from Bergen, his father in law provided his yacht and
provisions for the journey that took almost 60 days. As Edward Hagerup
already was
appointed Stiftsamtmand by the Danish King, he was the Kings representative in
Norway.
If he was present at Eidsvold in the April and May of 1814 it
would probably have been as an advisor to the Danish Crownprince, later elected
King og Norway for a few months. Edward
was not one of the delegates that signed the constitution.
